As part of our firm’s social responsibility program, Acedo Santamarina signed a collaboration agreement with Appleeseed Mexico, which will provide pro bono legal services to civil society organizations that seek to positively impact our community.
One of the organizations with which Acedo Santamarina is currently collaborating is Sociedad Activa, a non-profit collective whose work consists essentially of bringing basic education to agricultural day laborers in the region of Hermosillo, Sonora.
Sociedad Activa also provides theater, cinema and training for producers and day laborers in one of the most important agricultural production regions of the country, in order to contribute to the empowerment of one of the most marginalized sectors in Mexico.
The education and training that Sociedad Activa brings to the agricultural fields contributes to the generation of better expectations in the quality of life not only of the workers, but also of their families, who in many cases accompany them during the harvest season.
A team of lawyers from Acedo Santamarina proudly advises on the design of the corporate structure of Sociedad Activa, in order to legally formalize its operation, ensure its permanence and access to government incentives that allow the expansion of the programs it carries out in favor of the community.
At Acedo Santamarina, we are convinced that pro bono work is an indispensable tool for the transformation of Mexican society to which we are committed.
